NEW YORK & LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)----Jefferies Group, Inc. (JEF) today announced the appointment of Oliver Jakob as a Managing Director and Global Head of Risk Management for its principal operating subsidiary, Jefferies & Company, Inc. and its affiliated companies.

Mr. Jakob joins Jefferies from Bear Stearns, where he has been the Co-Head of Risk for Credit Trading since 2004. Previously, Mr. Jakob was at Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), where he was Vice President, Trading Room Risk Management, responsible for CIBC's global Fixed Income and Merchant Banking businesses.

Mr. Jakob, who will work in the New York headquarters office of Jefferies, is expected to begin work at Jefferies on November 12. Mr. Jakob graduated from Karlsruhe University, Germany, with a Master's Diploma in Industrial Engineering.
